The WSOP Super Circuit Canada 2026 runs from August 26 to September 12 at Playground in Kahnawake, Quebec, just outside Montreal. The first Canadian WSOP Super Circuit features 18 WSOP Circuit ring events, more than C$14 million in guarantees and a massive C$10 million guaranteed Main Event.
For Canadian poker players, there’s another reason this series is worth watching: you don’t necessarily need C$5,000 sitting in your poker bankroll to play the Main Event.
Canadian players can qualify online exclusively through GGPoker, with satellite paths starting as low as $1.
Quick Answer: How Can Canadians Qualify Online?
Canadian players can win their way into the C$5,000 WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event through GGPoker.
The route depends on where you live:
Ontario playepokerrs: Use the dedicated Main Event satellites available through the regulated GGPoker Ontario platform.
Players in the rest of Canada: Look for the WSOP Express qualification path inside GGPoker. The step system allows players to begin with low-cost satellites and work their way toward a C$5,000 Main Event seat.
The official GGPoker information says satellite entry points begin at just $1.
That’s quite the potential ladder: one buck at the bottom, C$10 million guaranteed at the top.

Dates above indicate starting flights/events rather than every subsequent day of multi-day play. Tournament schedules can change, so check the official WSOP or Playground schedule before travelling.
The C$10 Million Main Event
The centrepiece is Event #7: the C$5,000 WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event.
The tournament carries an extraordinary C$10 million guarantee, making it the event most Canadian tournament players will have circled on the calendar.
There are multiple starting opportunities from September 3 through September 6, followed by the later stages of the tournament.
Playground already has some serious WSOP history. Its 2025 WSOP Circuit Main Event attracted 1,978 entries and generated a C$4,450,500 prize pool, which set a WSOP Circuit record at the time.
Canadian Jacob Hobday won that event for C$620,000 after qualifying through a C$75 GGPoker satellite.
If you ever needed proof that satellites aren’t merely decoration in the poker lobby, there it is.
GGPoker Qualifiers for Players Outside Ontario
Players outside Ontario can qualify through GGPoker’s WSOP Express system.
The qualification ladder begins with inexpensive satellites and progresses through additional stages toward a direct C$5,000 Main Event seat.
GGPoker says the pathway starts from $1, so recreational players don’t have to jump directly into an expensive satellite.
My advice is to treat the satellite ladder as its own tournament bankroll.
Set an amount you’re prepared to spend trying to qualify and stick to it. Winning a C$5,000 seat for $20, $50 or $100 is fantastic. Spending $4,300 repeatedly chasing a C$5,000 seat is considerably less fantastic.
GGPoker Qualifiers for Ontario Players
Ontario players have a separate route because of Ontario’s regulated online poker market.
Instead of using the same WSOP Express pathway available elsewhere in Canada, players in Ontario should access GGPoker Ontario and look for the dedicated WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event satellites.
The end goal is the same: win your way into the C$5,000 Main Event at Playground without paying the full entry directly.
Always check the current Ontario poker client because satellite availability and starting times can change.
GGPoker Qualifier-Only Meet-Up Game – September 2
Here’s a perk you can’t simply walk up to the cage and buy.
Players who qualify for the Main Event through GGPoker receive access to an exclusive Meet-Up Game at Playground on Wednesday, September 2 from noon until 5 p.m.
The low-stakes cash game is reserved for GGPoker qualifiers and features appearances from major poker players and creators.
The announced lineup includes names such as:
- Daniel Negreanu
- Michael Mizrachi
- Dan “Jungleman” Cates
- Jonathan Little
- Kevin Martin
- Kitty Kuo
- Jeff Platt
- Greg Goes All In
- Abby Poker
- Masato Yokosawa
Seats are limited and seating is randomized, so qualifying doesn’t guarantee you’ll find yourself sitting directly beside Negreanu.
Still, that’s a pretty good bonus for winning your Main Event seat online.
PLO Events at WSOP Super Circuit Canada
Pot-Limit Omaha players aren’t being forgotten.
There are three dedicated PLO ring events on the schedule:
| # | Date | PLO Tournament | Buy-In | Guarantee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | Sept. 1 | Monster Stack Pot-Limit Omaha | C$1,500 | C$75,000 |
| 9 | Sept. 7 | Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty | C$1,000 | C$100,000 |
| 15 | Sept. 10 | Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller | C$6,000 | C$200,000 |
The C$1,000 PLO Bounty is probably the most approachable of the three for recreational Omaha players, while the C$6,000 High Roller is very much the deep end of the swimming pool.
Why Do Some Sites Say September 10 and Others September 12?
You may notice conflicting dates when researching the series.
GGPoker’s original June announcement says the WSOP Super Circuit Canada runs August 26 through September 10.
However, the current official WSOP tournament schedule and Playground schedule list the complete festival as August 26 through September 12.
The reason becomes clear when looking at the finalized schedule. The Main Event is promoted as running through September 10, but additional WSOP Circuit ring events continue afterward.
Those include:
September 11: C$1,500 The Closer Turbo Bounty
September 12: C$600 Progressive Bounty and C$500 Series Saver Hyper Turbo
For planning purposes, PokerHub is therefore using August 26–September 12, 2026 as the official festival dates.
Satellite Lobby Last Checked
GGPoker satellite information last checked by PokerHub Canada: August 26, 2026.
Satellite schedules can change quickly as the Main Event approaches. Check the GGPoker tournament lobby before depositing or making travel arrangements based on a specific qualifier.
Travelling to Playground
Playground is located in Kahnawake, Quebec, immediately outside Montreal.
If you’re travelling from another province, remember that winning a tournament seat doesn’t automatically make the rest of the trip free.
Your real trip budget may include:
- Flights or fuel
- Hotel accommodation
- Ground transportation
- Meals
- Cash-game or side-event bankroll
- Additional tournament entries
- Spending money
- Extra nights if you make a deep run
And yes, needing extra hotel nights because you’re still alive in a C$10 million Main Event is one travel problem we’d all happily accept.
Don’t Blow Your Bankroll Chasing a Satellite
Satellites can provide tremendous value, but they’re also easy to chase.
If your normal tournament bankroll doesn’t support a C$5,000 tournament, that doesn’t suddenly mean it supports hundreds or thousands of dollars in satellite attempts.
Decide beforehand:
How much am I willing to spend trying to win this seat?
Once you’ve reached that number, stop.
There will always be another satellite, another tournament and another poker series. The goal is to win your way into a huge event—not accidentally spend the price of the seat trying to avoid buying the seat.
Final Thoughts
The WSOP Super Circuit Canada 2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest live poker festivals Canada has ever hosted.
Eighteen WSOP Circuit ring events and more than C$14 million in guarantees would already make it noteworthy. Add a C$10 million guaranteed Main Event, PLO events, major high rollers and online qualification through GGPoker, and this becomes a series Canadian tournament players should have on their radar.
For recreational players, the online satellite route may be the most interesting part of all.
You don’t need to start with C$5,000.
You can start at the bottom of the GGPoker qualification ladder, manage your satellite bankroll carefully and see how far you can climb.
Sometimes that’s the fun part.
Cheers, and may the poker gods be with you!
