FAQs

Q What are the rules?

Full House Poker Rules

  • No cash betting: This is a no-cash betting event with zero tolerance for real money betting. Anyone seen or heard cash betting will be disqualified immediately, their chips surrendered, and they will score no points for the event.

  • Tournament Director's decisions are final: Tournament Directors prioritize fairness and the best interest of the game. Their decision is final.

  • No outside food or drink is permitted in the venue.

  • English only at the table while a hand is in play.

  • Cell phones: Not permitted while a hand is in play. If you must take a call or message, leave the table. Your hand will be folded.

  • No loud, abusive language or profanity: Respectful behavior is expected at all times.

  • Betting rules:

    • The line on the table is a courtesy line for placing bets. Any forward motion of chips is considered a bet, call, or raise.

    • A raise must be equal to or greater than the big blind or preceding raise.

    • No string bets – One forward motion only.

    • Check-raise is permitted in all games.

  • One player per hand: Collusion or angling is strictly prohibited.

  • Protect your hand: Each player is responsible for their own hand. If a dealer kills an unprotected hand, there will be no redress, and the player will not be entitled to their chips back.

  • No splashing the pot or stirring bets: An oversized chip is a call or bet in the amount of the oversized chip unless stated otherwise.

  • Chip visibility: Players must keep their chips on the table, with the highest denomination chips clearly visible at all times.

  • No foreign chips: Only one card cap is allowed at most.

  • Cards speak: Players must show one card or reveal their hand if requested, or at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

  • Verbal declarations are binding: A spoken action in turn overrides chips put in play.

    • Acting out of turn may be binding or may limit the options of that player at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

  • No rabbit hunting: Players are not allowed to see what the next card would have been after folding.

  • Leaving the table:

    • If you leave and indicate you will not return, your chips will be removed immediately, and your position recorded.

    • If you indicate you will return, your chips will remain, and blinds will be posted until the end of the second break. If you have not returned by then, your chips will be removed, and your position noted.

Q Etiquette guidelines

Full House Poker Etiquette

  • RESPECT THE VENUE: Our host venue must be respected at all times. You are expected to support their food and beverage offerings, as without our patronage, free poker nights will not be viable for the venue.

  • PLAY AT A REASONABLE RATE OF SPEED: If you are in a hand, keep up with the action so the game keeps moving. When deliberating a hand, take a necessary but reasonable amount of time. Do your best to keep the game flowing.

  • BE POLITE & COURTEOUS: Sportsmanship and common courtesy create a more enjoyable experience for both players and staff. Taking excessive time to reveal a winning hand or "Slow Rolling" to taunt others is poor sportsmanship.

  • ACT IN TURN: Folding, calling, or leaving your seat before it is your turn should be avoided as much as possible, as it reveals unnecessary information to active players.

  • SHOWING YOUR CARDS: Like playing out of turn, revealing your cards prematurely or showing them to others can impact the outcome of a hand. Once there is one or more stacks "ALL IN" and no further side pots are possible, all players in the showdown must show their cards face up.

  • SHOW ONE, SHOW ALL: If you reveal your cards to one or more players, you must show them to all players.

  • DISCARDING YOUR HAND: When folding, release your cards in a low and controlled motion, not toward the dealer's hand or board cards.

  • DO NOT DISCUSS A HAND STILL IN PLAY: Avoid talking about your cards, especially if you’ve already folded. This can provide unintended information that affects the hand’s outcome.

  • DO NOT CRITICIZE OTHERS: Criticizing another player’s style of play is impolite and unwelcome. Every player is entitled to play within house rules without judgment. Demeaning talk or behavior toward players or employees—such as throwing cards or name-calling—will not be tolerated.

  • DO NOT ANGLE OR COLLUDE: Any deliberate actions or statements that unfairly influence play, whether they impact a hand or not, are unacceptable. There should be no agreements to check a hand to the showdown when a third player is all in.
