FAQs

Q Poker Room House Rules

  • Floor people are to consider the best interest of the game and fairness as the top priority in the decision-making process. The floor person’s decision is final.

  • No outside food or drink permitted in the room.

  • English only at the table while a hand is in play.

  • Cell phones are not permitted to be in use while a hand is in play.

  • Loud, abusive language and profanity will not be tolerated.

  • All games are table stakes. No short-buys are permitted.

  • The line on the table is a courtesy line for all players to place their bets. A forward motion of chips may be considered a bet, call, or raise as interpreted by the dealer.

  • Check and raise is permitted in all games.

  • Seat or game change is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Players moving more than two active seats away from the blinds or to another table of the same game must post.

  • One dinner break of 40 minutes is permitted per patron, with only one player on dinner per table at a time.

  • Any player missing three sets of blinds will be cashed out.

  • The third-man-out rule is in effect.

  • One player per hand. Collusion or angling will not be tolerated.

  • Each player is responsible for their own hand at all times. If a dealer kills an unprotected hand, the player will have no redress and will not be entitled to their money back.

  • Splashing the pot and stirring bets are not permitted. An oversized chip is a call or a bet in the amount of the oversized chip unless stated otherwise.

  • Players must keep their chips on the table, with the highest denomination chips visible at all times.

  • There will be no foreign chips on the table except for a maximum of one card cap.

  • Cards speak. If you show one card or show another player your cards, you must show all cards upon request or at the discretion of the staff.

  • Verbal declarations in turn may be binding. Action out of turn may be binding or limit the options of that player.

  • Rabbit hunting is not allowed.

Q Poker Room Etiquette

  • Play At A Reasonable Rate Of Speed. If you are in a hand, don’t make everyone remind you that it’s your turn – keep up with the action so the game keeps moving. When deliberating a hand, please take a necessary but reasonable amount of time. Do your best to keep the game moving.

  • Be Polite & Courteous. Sportsmanship and common courtesy will make for a much more enjoyable experience for both players and staff. Taking your time to reveal a winning hand or “Slow Rolling” to taunt other players at the table is the epitome of poor sportsmanship.

  • Act In Turn. Whether folding, calling, or leaving your seat, always wait until it is your turn to act. Acting out of turn should be avoided as much as possible as it reveals important information to players still in the hand.

  • Showing Your Cards. Like playing out of turn, revealing your cards prematurely or showing them to others can potentially affect the outcome of a hand.

  • Discarding Your Hand. When discarding your hand, release it in a low line of flight, not at the dealer’s hand or board cards.

  • Do Not Discuss A Hand Still In Play. Please do not talk about your cards, especially if you’ve already folded. This gives information that may affect the outcome of the hand.

  • Do Not Criticize Others. Criticizing another player’s style of play is impolite and undesirable. A player is entitled to play the game within the house rules without being subject to criticism. Talk or actions demeaning other players or employees will not be tolerated. Examples include throwing cards, name-calling, and other abusive behavior.

  • Do Not Angle or Collude. Deliberate statements or actions that could unfairly influence the course of play, whether or not they influence a hand, are unacceptable. There should be no agreement to check a hand to the showdown when a third player is all-in.

Q Poker Room Bad Beat Jackpot Rules

  • No player, whether or not involved in the play of the hand, may verbally communicate to another player that a Bad Beat Jackpot situation is possible. Such verbal communication may void the jackpot.

  • A hand that has been mucked when facing action does not qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot.

  • In all jackpot games, when the pot reaches fifteen (15) dollars, one (1) dollar is taken and placed into the jackpot drop box.

  • Guests are eligible to win jackpot progressive money and/or promotional prizes only while playing in jackpot games.

  • Starlight Casino will post updates to the Bad Beat Jackpot before 5:00 PM daily.

  • In Texas Hold’em, to be eligible for a Bad Beat, both the winning and losing hands must meet the following conditions:

    • There must be at least five (5) active players dealt into the hand; players away from the table are not considered active players.

    • If more than two (2) hands qualify for the 50% or 25% share(s) of any jackpot, only the two (2) highest-ranking qualifying hands will be considered. All remaining hands will receive table share only.

    • Jackpots are paid when quads 8’s are beaten by higher than quad 8’s, and both hands meet the qualifying criteria.

    • A qualifying hand must be the player’s best possible five (5) card hand, with both hole cards in each player’s hand used in making the best possible five (5) card hand.

    • If the qualifying hand is four-of-a-kind, two (2) of the four cards must be from the player's private two (2) card hand. Kickers in the hole cards will not be considered as part of the qualifying hand.

    • When running it twice, only the first run-out qualifies for the jackpot.

  • Starlight Casino Management reserves the right to declare a jackpot hand null and void during the round of play if the rules of the game are not in accordance with the approved rules of play.
